🎉 Ginnamuluan Festival of Cabarroguis: Strengthening Community Bonds

June 20–21, 2025 | Cabarroguis, Quirino

What is Ginnamuluan?

“Ginnamuluan” derives from the Ilocano word gamulo, which means “to lend a hand.” The Ginnamuluan Festival is a vibrant celebration of this deeply rooted Filipino value—bayanihan or communal unity, where families, neighbors, and barangay members come together to prepare and celebrate as one.

Held annually from June 19 to 21, this festival coincides with Araw ng Cabarroguis—the town’s founding day on June 21, declared a special local holiday in 1992 under Republic Act No. 7255..

How Does The Festival Go?

During Ginnamuluan, you’ll experience:

  • Bayanihan spirit in action – everyone contributes to venue and food preparations, reflecting shared community responsibilities .

  • Street dancing and parades – communities showcase colorful costumes and lively performances celebrating cultural identity.

  • Folk courtship traditions – reminiscent of earlier days, Ginnamuluan fosters social interaction and friendly matchmaking.

  • Local fare and cultural displays – enjoy regional dishes and traditions honoring Ilocano and indigenous heritage.
